Hey guys,

I was told that adjusting the idle if fairly simple on these boats. It's a 97 Bayliner capri with a 3.0l Mercruiser.

Right now it idles really rough and am hoping a little adjustment may help that.

The idle speed adj. controls idle speed .what does the tach read now?
Running rough could be from something else. Last full tune-up?

I just took it out of the shop yesterday.

They changed out the water pump, spark plugs, all the fluids, and fired up and ran the motor in their test tank.

I called the mechanic yesterday and he said there was a screw to adjust the idle.

When it's in gear, all is well. (most of the time, see my other post)

sorry,

The tach was reading approx 600rpm at idle.

It isn't necessarily the most trustworthy part of the boat though.
