My boat is a sun ray(80s) tri hull with a mercruiser 4 banger engine and alfa 1 outdrive(i think) says 140 on it!! The tilt trim is the power trim double hose. My book says it takes 5w-30 oil. Can I use 5w-30 synthetic? or even 15w-40?
Thanks

You can actually use just about any petroleum based oil.

I use auto trans fluid because it's red and leaks are easier to identify.

You need to see what color fluid is in the trim system already. If it's red then you can use Dextron ATF. If its clearish/tanish then its tilt/trim fluid.
