Uneven wear between gimbal ring/outdrive

I have a 1987 3.0 Liter Alpha1 outdrive that shifts, tilts and operates perfectly, no strange noises etc. I have had it for 12 years. I have noticed that the starboard side of the outdrive contacts the long tab that sticks out of the rear of the gimbal ring. The port side has about an 1/8" gap between the outdrive and the gimbal ring tab. I have greased all the pivot points monthly since I owned it. I do not feel any play in any of the pivot points. I never hit anything with the outdrive. The starboard side of the outdrive now has slight scuffing from making contact with the gimbal ring tab. It looks like a worn hinge pin could make the bell housing and outdrive sag to one side, however I feel no play in them when I lift and rock the outdrive. Any ideas??

It's normal. The prop torque pushes the drive against that tab while under load. Using the trim causes wear. The Gen II drives have a plastic wear plate there to prevent the metal wear of the older style.
