I have a 1976 Mercruiser 165 L6 with the Pre-Alpha drive.

I bought a used trim cylinder setup with stainless steel lines and when I hooked it up one of the fittings on the boat side was leaking pretty bad. The problem is I can't get any of the fittings off. The wrench just starts slipping. Any suggestions on how to get them off?

are you using the right type of wrench??????
Needs to be a flare nut wrench...
but if you've already rounded it off by using a regular wrench your probably scaaareewwd. and vise grips and heat are your best bet.

The flare nut wrench worked on one side, but wouldn't fit between the nut and the fitting at the other, so I ended up using pliers. It came off, but I ended up buying one new hose.
