1993 OMC Cobra Ford 5.0 l EFI/MPI ~ I am re-installing the sender units, oil pressure, oil pressure warning, and water temperature on a replacement engine. I found instructions on the water temperature to not put any teflon tape upon installation. I found mixed instructions on the oil pressure senders. Some say to not use tape others say to use yellow teflon tape. Don't the threads need to be bare to make contact with the block for grounding purposes? Thanks!

Yes unless the sender is a two wire type they will certainly need to make good electrical contact with the block.

Remember that if the senders have a tapered thread they will need a little joint sealant of some kind to seal the joint. If however they have parallel threads then they should tighten down on to a joint washer.

There is absolutely no reason on any boat, to use teflon tape. It causes way more problems that it's worth.
