Would like to install a fuel flow meter... Not sure if this engine has the Smartcraft capability or not.. would it be
possible/affordable to change the fuel guage to a digital version and pick up the flow data... how does this work?
Where would I get the mercury parts required to do this?

Would it be easier to buy an aftermarket flow meter and install it in place of another guage..like my factory (useless) depth meter?

Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Flow meter guages

I use the sensor that HT32BSX115 uses with the LMF-200 but I have mine interface with my Lowrance GPS/sounder so I get instananeous MPG instead of just fuel flow.

The sensor is only around $50.

Check Cabelas. Just ordered mine.

The price is lower but it is not clear if it includes the sensor.

Garmin did not have that capability last year when I bought my Lowrance

I like the Lowrance because it can be connected to the NMEA2000 network.

I also have the fuel level and Bennett Sport Tab sensors too.

Once I get the GPS/Sonar unit I'll be able to display all that stuff on the "fish-finder" !

I suspect that eventually they'll have NMEA2000 networked sensors for engine stuff (oil press/temp/etc) too.

Rick, You caught my interest with the Bennett Sport tab sensor. I was planning on ordering the LMF-200 for my NMEA2000 ready device. I can't seem to find it or the fuel level device. Can you provide link or part # info. I also can't get Bennett trim tab site to open. Maybe they are listed there? Thanks

Hank

Lowrance fuel flow gages

Here's a linkhttp://www.boatersworld.com/product/319393062.htm to where you can get it. There's a lot of boating places that sell it. I got the Bennett sensor directly from Bennett.

If I had to do it over again I'd probably get the LMF-400 because the display is larger.

Cheers,

Rick

Thanks for the links guys. I thought the LMF-400 was only for two engine applications? Can it be set up for a single engine? Hank

It will display either 1 or 2. You just select what you want in the setup menu.
