I would like to replace the standard fuel filter/water seperator on my Mercruiser 5.7LX engine with a Racor unit with metal bowl and water drain plug. In my search I see only a replacement for Mercruiser part #35-604941-1. The Mercruiser part number listed for my fuel filter/water seperator is #35-807172. Has anyone with a 5.7LX engine installed a Racor filter? If so, what Racor model number should be used - the B32020MAM?

Re: Racor Gasoline Filter for Mercruiser

I Can't Answer your Question by Part #s,..........

But,......
I Know that NAPA has a Filter with a Drain in it, that Screws onto the Merc. factory housing,.........
Unfortunately,.... No, I don't have the Part #,....
It wouldn't clear my motor mount,+ I returned it....

Welcome Aboard,+ Good Luck.......

Why not buy a complete Racor unit that is inline ahead of your present unit?
