I just moved back to CR from Kansas City. My local marine store here only carries Mercruiser products. I stopped in there to pick up some of the Envinrude/Johnsone Hi-Vis gear lube that I have been using in my '88 5.7 OMC Cobra. Of course they didn't carry it but the local expert there said that if I drain all the old lube out of the drive and refill with the Mercuriser Hi performance fluid it will make no difference. Any opinions on this?? I don't see why it would make any difference, kind of like comparing brands of 10W-30 motor oil...... Thanks for the replies in advance!!!
