My husband asks:

How in the #@&%* do I remove the #@&%*-ing control lever without ripping the boat apart? The lever seems to be attached to the fiberglass and upholstery by about 5 screws which, upon removal, the thing only wiggles slightly. There must be a trick - or am I missing something? Thanks.

don is right. its usually a grub screw set underneath. you may have to line up the access hole on the lever to see it.

Thanks. Found a grub hole. I'll investigate and post photos if needed. Just knew there must be a trick. Thanks, again.

Is there a button you push in for the cold start position? On my Mercruiser, I have to pop that button off (usally breaks but is only a couple of dollars) to remove a nut behind it, the shift handle comes off to expose the mounting screws.
