I have decided to put a vortec 4.3 motor out of a 99 silverado. I?ve heard this cam would work in a boat but I wasn?t sure. I?ve tried to search for a cam that will fit av6 vortec with a balanced shaft and I?m having a hard time finding something that doesn?t have too much lift and that fits the rpm range I?m needing. Anyone know of a nice cam that will work and not have to worry about reversion or having to upgrade my springs?

I seen crane cams had this one but I didn?t know I?f the lift would be too much or not. I also seen comp cams has a cam you can have them grind but not sure what to tell them.

Note: Good low end torque, smooth idle, daily usage, light towing, economy, also mild turbo- charged, 2200- 3000 cruise RPM, 8.0 to 9.5 compression ratio advised.

Would that crane cam make much difference at all? It?s almost 300 and I wasn?t gonna spend it if it won?t make much difference. I?m not sure what the stock cam specks are and what the stock springs can handle

Also I was wandering about the pulleys. Since my motor has v belts and vortecs have serpentine set ups would I be able to mount my crankshaft pulley on the vortecs balancer and would it lineup with the other pulleys?

I doubt the cam would make a noticeable difference. Use the $ for fuel to get more lake time in.
