How do I get this anode out?

How do I get this zinc off? I have removed the 2 set screws and its loose but rusty washer like thing where the prop seats against doesn't easily come off of the spindle?

That is a thrust washer for the prop. Use PB blaster and take a small brass hammer and work it slowly. Could also use some heat but not a lot. From the looks of the hub, it may be on its last legs and may need replaced.

That 'rusty washer' is a thrust hub. Just flick it off with a large screwdriver.

that drive is long past were a new zinc would help.

Ayuh,... That's 1 Nasty lookin' drive case,....

​I agree, I posted some pics a few weeks back asking if they were beyond bothering with and most responses were along the lines of "I've seen much worse".

​I guess I should have posted more close ups.....lol

No Title

Got the thrust washer off both drives, the one in the photo seems to have a grove worn into the backside, the other one has no wear at all.

Is this indicative of a larger problem?
