I have a 1983 MCM228 with an SEI106 sterndrive. I understand in theory how the shift interrupt switch should work, although it only engaging when the boat is in the water creating resistance on the prop is a mystery. I've watched achris's video on adjusting the shift cable and followed his procedure for adjusting these cables. I was wondering if there is some place where the interaction of adjusting shift cables; the shift interrupt switch; and adjusting the carburetor throttle cable is explained?

The clutch dog and gears are cut on a "negative angle" which causes them to pull themselves tighter together. If they were straight they would never fully engage and jump out, OMC learned this the hard way .

So I take it there is no interaction between the shift cable interrupt and the carburetor throttle adjustment.

nope. the first part of the throttle shifts the motor, after that the throttle starts.
