1988 v6 205 up. Pachanga. 19 ft.

Quadrajet 4 barrels
Iis it possible to set the carb using. Vacuum
If so where is the port located.

Ayuh,.... Most, if not All boat carbs don't have vacuum ports,....

Ya use yer ear, 'n a tach to set the settin's,...

There is no vaccum port because the distributors do not use vaccum advance like cars used to, however, there is a plug in the rear face of the carb mount on the intake manifold that probably could be removed and a port could be installed. I just use my tach dwell meter.

When the throttle plate is removed you will see 2 plugs pressed into the float chamber. JB weld will take care of it.

The Q-jet has a vacuum operated choke pull off. Put a tee fitting in it and you have your vacuum port. Don't disconnect the pull off if you are going to run the boat at speed, it also, on most Q-jets, controls/dampens the air valve above the secondaries

rpm speed is a good indicator.. use the weber best lean idle procedure, works on every carb. pretty much turn it in lean till it starts bogging - back out 1/4 turn. Sometimes u can find the best spot down to an 1/8 of a turn - but not so with 2 mix screws.
