2005 Mercruier carb w/210hp???

Ok, so I have a stealership trying to tell me a boat I am looking at has a 2005 Mercruiser 4.3 Thunderbolt V with 210hp. Does such a beast exist? My understanding is by that year there were the 190hp carb, 220hp MPI from the factory and that the 2-barrel 190hp carb can be tuned up aftermarket to 210-220. Is this guy full of it or am I missing something?

The 210 is not quit so much slight of hand. The manual shows carb at 205 and the EFI at 210. So your talking about 5 HP. Now the 190HP rating is from the Bodensee and Swiss Regulations and comes from testing done at different RPM's

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... My '93/94 4.3LX with the Merc/ Weber/ Carter 4bbl. carb is said to produce 205 hp, the 2bbl. carb rated at 190 hp, I believe,...

Vortec heads came out in '96, so a later motor oughta be able to produce 210/ 215 hp, with the 4 bbl. carb, 'n Vortec heads,...

The highest rating a 2 barrel CARBed 4.3 has been given by Merc is 190. 4 barrels are at 205 and 210, and EFI and MPI have been run up to 220hp.

And in 2005 the only options were a 220 MPI or a 190 Carbed.
