1998 5.0 mercruiser no electrical power

My starter would only click when I tried to start it. So I tightened the nut on the solenoid, as I removed the wrench I got a big spark. Now I have no power at the control panel and nothing when I try to start it, I looked for a fuse or breaker on the engine but unable to locate one. any suggestions

There is a 90 amp fuse on the battery post which looks like the pic below.

Agree with ALLDodge sounds like you blew the 90 amp fuse. As for your issue before that with the starting it could either be the starter or the slave solenoid on the top of the motor. Grab a multi-meter or 12v test light and confirm where you have power and where you don't. Pretty simple test procedure.

Have you verified that the fuse is the issue?
