HI all
I have a 2005 Sea Ray 240 SunDeck with a 5.0L Bravo MPI. engine serial no. OW068236.
I replaced the engine block with a 5.7L (MAG 350) from Michigan Motorz.
I sold my original 5L Motorola ECM with the part no. 865836 with a serial no. of W9010VI1 and manufacture date of 08-10-2004.
I was told that this wouldn't be compatible and I would need to either reflash or get a new ECM to match the specs of the 5.7 MAG 350. I bought a 350 MAG Bravo ECM0713 dated 02-27-2013 (8M2001111) (8M2003678) (A30004IS) bar codes. I did this thinking it would work, however, the motor starts up , runs for a few seconds and dies. I've been told now that there are many different compatibilities for certain years and certain applications and that a 2013 ECM would not work with my new system.

Can anyone tell me what I need here? What is actually compatible with the software on the ECM that will work with my 2004-05 5L - now a 2014 5.7 block. I'm gonna guess the block has nothing to do with it as far as anything ether than it's now a 5.7.

I've called a few places and no one seems to want to give me the answer I need. So, here we are.

You need either 865840T01 for a 350mag open cooling and Bravo drive (2005 model), or have yours reflashed. Being a 2013 it is probably look for sensors yours doesn't have

Thx for the help. I assumed it would be looking for all kinds of new stuff. Talked to someone at Whipple Super Chargers, but it seems as though the answer isn't as clear as it should be. Do you know of anyone who reflashes?
