Gentlemen, its been a few years since I last visited this sight but I've a question for PM on exhaust risers. I've a 95 well craft with a 7.4L and bravo 1 with 500 hrs on engine and original risers used exclusively in fresh water with raw water cooling. What is suggested PM or replacement time for my exhaust risers?

Personally, I'l pull them off and see how much erosion there is at the gasket area between exhaust and water jackets. That will tell you how healthy they are and you can make a choice how long until replacement. Here's a nice image found at thehulltruth.

The inspection that Rick posted is what you should do but with 500 hours in fresh water, you likely will have no problem.

Ayuh,.... They oughta outlast yer grandchildren,....

In freshwater, manifolds are replaced if frozen fulla water, 'n busted,...
Otherwise, they'll last forever,....
