I'm looking for any help someone can provide.
We just purchased this vintage boat and the previous owners said it was in great shape and had no problems. We had it out on the lake and had been driving around at around 25-30 mph for about 20 minutes when it seemed to stall out. At that time I looked at the temperature gauge and it was running hot, so we floated about a half hour with the engine cover off to let it cool down. Oil looked fine and nothing was "overheating". When it cooled back down, I attempted to start it a couple of times and it would sound like the engine would turn over once or twice, but wouldn't start. Had to get towed in.

Any ideas of where I should start? Not sure if it is an engine problem looming or after the fact I might have run down the battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your issues. The first time you hear from a seller that there are no issues you kind of believe it, or at least want to believe it. The second time you will know better, or at least test to verify

Which motor is in the boat?
