Just started boating a few years ago, anyway found what I feel like is a good deal on a boat I really like with 454/Yamaha drive. I want to convert to Merc, as I have read parts are few and far between, can anyone give me an idea of the parts I'm gonna need and any tips whatsoever. Also what Merc unit would you recommend.

Thanks

Naut, this topic had a reply so I left it. I deleted the dup over in the Other Brands forum, it had no replies.

Please dont start multiple topics, in multiple forums, about the same subject.

Probably going to have to change the cutout in the transom as well. Hopefully the Yami cut out isn't bigger than the Merc or you might have yourself a predicament..

You will be wanting a Bravo 1 or Bravo 3 drive. everything from the back of the motor to the prop. You may be able to keep the flywheel if the coupler will bolt up.

Ayuh,.... So how much did they pay you to haul it away,..??

By the time ya replace the transom assembly, the drive, 'n the Yamaha accessories on the 454 long block,....
You could just buy a runnin' boat with Merc or Volvo power,....
