I need to order a lower shift cable and after searching the forum and the interwebs it's still clear as mud what I need. I've read about "fore and aft", "old style or new style" "opposite side of bellhousing", "drilling and tapping" holy cow! Fwiw I have a 1984 pre alpha (pre load pin) that I believe is an R drive. It is the original upper and lower that came with the 1984 SeaRay Seville. Thank you all for ANY clarification.

Thank you for your response. Do you happen to know if I have to modify anything or if it mounts fore or aft? Thanks!

But just in case it dosent, there are lots of people here to help you thru it. When you remove the drive you will see the brass nut or you wont.
