Nope,... it wears on the inside,...... All the Alpha lower shift cables are the same,...

Kinda Bondo , but get the one for the Alpha GEN II drive. Sierra 18-2603

Lower shift cables for all Alpha style drive supersede to -865436A02... And that is the cable used for the Gen II also... And as far as cables, impellers and bellows, I can only recommend genuine....
