New to boating and bought a 98 SeaRay Sundeck 240 last year. Had a new trim pump installed last fall and the outdrive trim worked well until now. Had boat sitting in saltwater for last 3 months (never again) and trim now doesn't work at all. Have out of water and cleaned up now and realized there is no trim limit or trim sending unit on either side of outdrive. Is that normal? Can it possibly work without the sending unit?
Thanks for any help.

have you tried to bypass your switch at the trim pump? short across either one of the (2) relay's main posts... if that work then you can start backtracking... I would check the fuse at the pump 1st

It's definitely not normal to be missing the sender and switch. However the sender only operates the gauge. If the limit switch was only removed it would only trim up with the trailing switch. But if the wiring for the switch has been jumped, it will trim up and down normally except have no trim limit.
The system has two fuses. The one at the relays looks like a small square box and runs the pump. There is also an inline fuse that runs the controls.
Do you hear the relays click when the switch is operated?
