Ok. I have read the posts on alignment. Of the engine and
I used the alignment tool and it went in very Easy ,BUT
I get NO lines on it when I remove it .
I am pretty sure the bearing is in all the way as I follow ed instructions on putting the alignment bar together.
Suggestions please.
Thanks,Rich

If its going in real easy and your getting no marks, its not going into the engine coupler OR your coupler has no grease in it. Take a stick, measuring tape or something long enough to go all the way into the coupler. Push it in and hold grab it next to the gimbal bearing. Bring it out and mark the spot. Now push the alignment tool in, and mark it, The tool should be a little shorter then the stick.

There may be an issue with your rear motor mounts

Can you post up the instructions you referred to, and maybe a pic of the bar your are using. Is the alignment bar in 2 pieces? I guess some are, one part is just for a tool, then together they form the alignment bar with the length required. Does sound like the stepped end is not entering the coupler.

The bar is 1 piece with 2 adapters. 1 for oil seal 1 for bearing install.
Instructions came with bar .
Bearing instructions in repair manual and some you tube videos.
The bearing is flush with the opening.

Ayuh,.... Is the bar goin' All the way in, to the step on the bar, to the bearin',..??

Did you heavily coat the end of the bar with grease, before you stuck it in,..??

The bearing is flush with the opening.

Can you elaborate, the bearing is slightly recessed into the housing

Don't forget that the bearing does gimbal. You may have to nudge it sideways a bit to get the tool to hit the coupler.

Update, alignment bar wasn't going into the coupler.
When I got it in the lines are only on top of bar.
Will lower front of engine and try again.
That is probably why removing the o/d was difficult .
Thanks,Rich
