At the end of last season I suspected a H/E leak. Found the H/E to be OK.
Wound up replacing ALL hoses involved in the coolant side of the cooling system.
My conclusion is the the "new" Mercruiser block-off gasket is not adequate, See attached pics not in any order.
I am going old school with the (2) Gaskets and SS plate and Permatex Aviation Sealant

I'm just not comfortable in what I see the I remove the risers.....

Think I need to back up a bit here.
At the end of last season had A suspected H/E Leak on the freshwater side.
I also discovered what I thought was a P/S cooler leak, believe this was due to a rotten/missing clamp,
Anyway had to remove the stb manifold to gain access to the P/S cooler.
At this time I removed the riser from the mafold and replaced the gaxket with ines from the previou post.
Haven't tested the whole system together yet. The manifolds cleaned up fine.

just don't have good feeling about these new block off gasket for the wet joint manifolds. in

Ayuh,..... If the manifolds, 'n risers clean up nice 'n smooth clean metal, I don't really see a problem,....

Just make sure the gasket surfaces on the castin's are flat, clean, 'n wide,....
A flat file is My choice of tool for cleanin' 'em,...
