Harmonic balancer compatability

Hey folks--Need to replace a harmonic balancer on a 1984 mercruiser 140hp (4cyl) and I'm wondering if other year/model balancers might be compatible. Installation will be done by my local shop but I'm trying to save a few hundred bucks on the part. Any guidance is much appreciated.

I'm finding that the Mercruiser 120, 140 and 3.0 use the same balancer 8M0086946

There is a used one at ebay for 156 + ship

I used GM part no. 3826280 on my 1974 3.0. Worked great and was way cheaper.
They also list 3826292 but I haven't used that one.
Sometimes they're listed as 03826280 or 03826292

Ayuh,.... Just for the sake of accuracy, the 120 don't use a harmonic balancer, just a hub, 'n pulley,....

That's how ya can tell a 153 cid from the 181 cid motors, without pullin' the head,.....
