Would a bad ignition module also cause this?

Yes, but I would say in most cases it would be from a bad connection. This and along with cap, rotor and/or wires. This is why looking at the plugs can be the key to understanding what the motor is doing

The engine runs almost perfect below 1500 rpms...I'm only getting this issue attempting WOT 3000+. I've only tried to run it that high a few times and have always backed off when I heard the knocking.

Ayuh,.... Have you verified the rest of the fuel system is up to snuff,..??

Is the fuel pump puttin' out the proper volume at the proper pressure,..??
Is the fuel tank willingly givin' up it's load to the fuel pump,..??

Not yet but plan to. Also pulling plugs to see what they look like and comp check for burnt valve
Is there a way to check the secondaries without being under load? Think they are opening too soon as well.

No way to check the ability of the carb to work with primary or secondary without being under load other then inspect for size and adjustment
