Stalling in reverse

Hello I have a 1989 Wellcraft 210 Classic 5.0L Mercruiser Alpha One Gen One When I try to go in reverse stalls out runs fine in forward and at idle doesn't make any strange noises will run at idle in reverse but when I give it gas it stalls does not in forward any ideas?

Ayuh,.... That's a classic symptom of a failin' lower shift cable,....

The cure is to replace the lower shift cable,....

yep.. shift cable... I had the same problem a few months back.
