Been having trouble getting my shift interrupter to work properly. I am installing a new lower shift cable tomorrow but I've found that there's a lot of play in my remote cable. The barrel is not brass, it's plastic. Just picked up the boat a few weeks ago. First one I've ever owned so I'm not too familiar with these things. Everything I've read about adjusting cables refers to the barrels as brass. Anyways, is it normal to have this much play/slop/room like you see in my video? (In the video I already loosened up the nylon lock nut almost to the end of the shaft). My concern is the up/down and front/back slack that's between the barrel and the shaft.

Not normal, your missing the sleeve that goes on the stud. [h=1]23-45600 - Sleeve[/h]

Fyi, I ordered that sleeve....waaaaaay too big to be the right one. I did install a new lower cable and so far, everything is buttery smooth. Water testing tomorrow to see if my shift interrupt will work correctly now.
