I have a 1998 Tracker Tahoe with 3.0 mercrusier (engine is bad) that I am doing a V6 upgrade on

The donor boat is a 1987 Citation mercrusier V6 170 with mercrusier outdrive

The question is, will the outdrive from the 1987 donor boat bolt up to the gimbal on the recipient 1998 boat? Man that would be awesome if it would.

Nope,.... Everything forward from the rear motor mounts will drop in, 'n go,....

From the rear motor mounts aft, is a different animal,....

The '87 is an Alpha 1,.... the '98 is an Alpha Gen.II,.....

check the drive ratio as well when switching to a bigger motor

The donor boat ratio is 1.84 and the ratio of the leg in the Tahoe is a 1.94 so I will either need to get the whole 1.81 gen 2 unit or at the very least the top outdrive
