Alpha 1 drive bellows replacement.

I'm replacing the bellows on my 87 alpha 1 drive. I noticed in the kit there is a rubber ring that's about 5 inch in diameter. Where does this go? I remember someone talking about it before, but I can't remember where.

Inside the bell-housing. It seals the front of the drive-shaft housing to the bell-housing and attempts to prevent water entering the bellows should the gasket fail. It needs to be glued into the bell-housing.

Sorry to butt in... what kind of adhesive would you recommend? And do you glue it to the bellhousing or the gear case?

Bellows adhesive and as Chris said inside the housing.
