I can raise but not lower the engine. It is now completely up. I can hear the pump run when I try to trim down but no motion follows. I have greased the points near the trim sending units on each side. The hydraulic reservoir is full. Is there a way to bring it down manually? It is currently in a lift and I need to get it to the harbor ramp.

I just put it completely up this week. I will try the extra weight and lube. Will removing the pump lines allow it to come down?

When you put it completely up it puts a bind on the valve inside the pump. It can stick. Bouncing on it while someone runs the trim pump down usually frees it up. In the future, once you reach the top tap the down button briefly. This will help keep it from happening again.

sometimes when they sit a long time extended with no pressure release they bind. Only way is to reverse the hyd lines at the pump and use the highewr up pressure to get the rams to retract. once retracted, reverse the hyd lines again.
