I have a 1991 Mercruiser 4 cylinder that has points. My buddy bought a 1993 OMC 4 cylinder that has an electronic ignition. I was curious if I could use his distributor from his OMC and stick it straight into my mercruiser. If so, does anyone know the process? Thank you

Will take some pics and see later, right now dealing with tornadoes here in north texas. it looks like the same type of distributor, but also has some mechanical rectangle thing with wires leading into it attached.

The distributer is the Delco EST, so you got the good one there and it will fit

If this is on the transom it looks like the trim on the OMC

Thanks. Yes, found out via wiring diagrams for the OMC, that the mystery part is the ESA (shift module).
