so..... my engine is a 1987 mercruiser 260hp 350CID, i have my manifolds and riser elbows off, and i noticed that the elbow gaskets have the 2 larger holes and 2 small holes in them. i ordered by mistake this past winter the gaskets with the 4 larger holes, without the 2 small holes..... do i NEED the gaskets with the smaller holes in them? im not sure what the purpose of them are.... im not if i will experience any heat issues using the gaskets i have now with the large holes in them.... i am broke but if i need to i will hold off to get the other gaskets...

The gaskets with the two smaller holes are used to help keep a bit more water in the motor by slightly restricting the flow. This is need more so with the alpha drive because it does not move as much water

Ayuh,..... I would say, Yes,....

There's various plumbin' systems, but they are systems,....

If it has restricted gaskets, that's what ya wanta put back in, dry on Clean surfaces,....
