1986 mercruiser I/O 140 3.0 won't start

Hey guys I'm new here . I have a 1986 sea ray seville II with the 3.0 mercrusier and I've replaced the ignition system fuel system and rebuilt the carb and replaced the gas and the motor still won't start . It started twice and ran for about 2 seconds then died and won't start again . HELP

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... I take it, it's turnin' over, but not startin', Right,..??

Is there Spark, at the spark plugs,..??

Is there fuel present in the carb,..??

Is the fuel fresh,..??

Are you running points yet, or did you change to an electronic ignition? If points, check your dwell and timing
