Installing Lower Shift Cable Jacket Thru The Shift Cable Bellows - Any Tips?

Alpha One Gen One transom assembly

Trying to feed the shift cable jacket into thru the shift cable bellows moving from Aft to Forward. My lord, is there any part of rebuilding a transom that's easy? Other than applying motor oil or grease to the fat bronze leading end of the jacket, does anyone have any tips? I can't be the only person struggling with this.

I couldn't do it with the bellows attached to the transom,
Had to have it in my hand......still was a PITA!.

(My next step was going to put a heat gun on it, but didn't have to try that)

I'd sprayed a touch of Slick50 spray lube on the outside of the housing and it slid right on. Use a rag damp with lacquer thinner to wipe up and was a very simple process.
