I am in the process of repowering my tired out 1990 454 with a mildly built motor, don't worry I already bought the bravo 3, 😎. I've been thinking of replacing my factory distributor with an aftermarket one. What kind of a distributor would be a good drop in replacement without any wire cutting?

So you're saying I currently have a tb 4 then? Where is this module mounted at?
Should look like item number 7, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show_...L+AND+IGNITION
Mounting may have been either on the distributor assembly or exhaust manifold.

Agreed, if your TB 4 ignition system is working then you'd be better off using it.....If the module ever goes out then the system Bruce linked is a good alternative price wise should you have a difficult time locating another TB 4 module identical to yours. Sometimes a good deal pops up for used ones such as eBay, sometimes not.

Ok just crawled in the engine bay and found that triangle shaped module mounted on the inside of the port riser, does this mean I do have the tb4?
