Hello,
I have a 1998 Mercruiser 5.7 serial number 0l020702. I need to replace the engine this winter and am curious if I could use an older 2 piece rear main seal block. If so, what would I need to change? I only ask because I have a freshly rebuilt 5.7 that I purchased for another boat. My plan, if it will work, was to swap over the vortec heads and intake to the rebuilt engine. I know that the flywheel/coupler is different but I am unsure if they sell a flywheel/coupler combo that will work.

Ayuh,.... So long as yer runnin' the flywheel mounted coupler, which I believe you are, it's no problem,.....

Whether the center bolt pattern is 3" or 3, 1/4", the coupler pattern stays the same,....
