Upgrading my 2.5 inch free flow silencers to 3.5 inch ,originally my were installed vertically close to the transom ,now I did some research and find out ,that usually they are installed in flat position.
Confused , asking for advice how to install correctly.

They are nothing more than sturdy mufflers. Put em where they fit and test run it before you reinstall the covers and stuff permanently. After the first run be sure it starts easily, if there's any trouble cranking watch out for water in the exhaust.
Do not take out any upside down J or U bends in your exhaust, those keep water from getting into the motor. They are air traps.
Plumbing design uses the same concept to keep smells and methane gases out of the house.

Chris Craft logo must be upside down ,since there is no water drain on the top.
Still trying to figure out best installation for these silencers.
There is only two options : vertically as on first photo or horizontally ,second.
