Hi,
I have a 1992 60HP outboard with 4 teeth substantially gone and was wondering how to effect a repair. (This particular item is very difficult to source and I am in new Zealand where there are even fewer). Any tips on reconstituting the teeth? (I already posted this question in an old forum as I didn't quite understand how the system works. Oops.)

Thanks

:welcome: Rampant Johnny, great to have you join us here on iboats.

Unless you know of a great welder that could literally weld on material to cut the missing teeth, I don't see any other option. But then I most certainly would have it balance it as well then. A spinning flywheel going 5000 RPMs can seriously cause some real problem if the teeth came off or was out of balance... IMHO!

Thanks. I suspected that a repair might not work, sadly. I have approached marlborough outboard dismantlers but with no joy so far. Yes the flywheel pictured on ebay lookd like it would work but the listing has closed. I will keep looking.
