I just replaced the impeller and now the shift linkage is stuck in the lower unit. How do I fix it?

Gee, I have that motor, but I do not understand what you mean by stuck. The shift linkage is a bit tricky to reattach, but it can be done. What is your issue?

The linkage is stuck. I can not get it to move at all. It was working fine before I changed the impeller but now I drop the lower unit and the linkage is not moving up or down.

Very strange indeed.-----Did you remove the shift rod ????-----Are you trying to shift it without turning the propshaft ?????

It seems that the shift rod is stuck in the housing the bolts down to the lower unit. I took the bolts out and the rod will move up about a half inch but will only go down as far as the housing allows it to. Never messed with this stuff before and not sure. If it would be easier to talk by phone call me at 561-822-3285, names Bill.
