Evinrude 1979 35HP replace impeller

1979 Evinrude 35HP long shaft. Model 35903A, serial number E002229. I have ordered a manual and an impeller, but I think the impeller will get here first. I've done this on my 25 Evinrude, but the 35 is a little different. From the parts diagrams on line, it looks like there is one extra connector: a stud and nut at the front. Other than removing that nut, is the disassembly the same as the 25? That is: remove the four bolts (plus the nut on the stud), wiggle the lower unit off enough to disconnect the shift rod connector, and that's it?

Nope, not on a '79. That one still had the oval plate on the side of the midsection. Remove that plate and you will find the shift rod connector inside. Completely remove the lower bolt from it.
