I'm not terribly hopeful that anyone will know this but... does anyone know the thread size for the three bolts holding the ratchet onto the flywheel for this motor?

I ask because it was missing. I bought the ratchet and the three bolts and although the ratchet fits, the bolts will not thread in. They almost do but seem to be very slightly larger that the female receiving thread.

I am 99.99% sure the proper flywheel is on the motor as well as it appears identical to any picture I can find for the flywheel for that model year. Now I know that the flywheel was upgraded by OMC and I have the upgraded flywheel. I'm thinking that these came off the "obsolete flywheel" and that it had used a different bolt.

Thought appreciated,

Thanks

The bolts that hold the ratchet in place are 1/2-inch long, hex head, 1/4-20 thread. You can get away with 5/8 or 3/4-inch long bolts.

Well I can see why you're a fleet admiral.

Thanks for the in depth knowledge!

Very nice of you to share.
