I have a 1986 J15RCDE with a bad power pack. I ordered a used one off Ebay and didn't get the exact part I searched. I searched 0582285 and that part number is listed in the merchants ad. He sent me part number 0582280. The problem is that the leads to the coils are way too short. The original power pack has leads about 12-14 inches long and the leads on the part he sent have leads about 5 inches long. Obviously the power pack the merchant sent is designed to be on the same side of the motor as the coils. Anyway, do I send it back and try again or make the leads longer? Is this power pack the same as the one I wanted except for the lead length? NOTE: I grounded the power pack, popped on the leads, and had spark...

I lengthened the leads and the little motor is running like it is supposed to. Thanks.
