concealed side mounted control omc. engine is a 2003 Johnson 115hp 4 stroke.
the local shop sold me the same cable for the feeder and the shift could that be the problem...
when the cable is installed in hole 1 I have forward ok but enable to move it to revers has the cable is max out before it engage. if in hole #2 I have full revers but cannot put in forward gear has its max out before engaging...

Have you got the genuine OMC cables. On the control box it says mount the trunnion for the cable in the slot marked OMC. Then you put the shift cable in the inner hole closest to center.

Try the inner hole and let us know. That would be on the shift arm.

that was it. the inner hole work out perfectly. its really surprising since there is barely 1/8 of an inch between them and yet it caused that problem. anyway. inner hole was the fix. thanks again.
