I got this motor a few months ago, don't have any history on it. I couldn't turn the flywheel, so I took the lower unit off; turns out the drive shaft is frozen solid in the lower unit. I have so far taken the bearing carrier out and one of the gears that drives the prop shaft. Drive shaft still doesn't turn, so the problem must be in the drive shaft bearing. Lower unit had no oil in it when I got the motor, so maybe the previous owner ran it until the bearing seized tight, I don't know. Anyway, I want to know if there are any tricks to dislodging a stuck shaft. I've already dumped a lot of PB Blaster in there with no luck.

Pull the upper drive shaft bearing cap and see what you find.

Thanks for your reply. I pulled the bearing cover already , bearing actually looks ok - can't see any visible damage. Picture is attached. Is there another bearing underneath that one, or is there only one drive shaft bearing?

Yes, there is also a pinion gear bearing. You'll have to pull the lower unit down further.
