I'm trying to buy a new fuel pump and all I'm getting is " fits part number this and that." Doesn't tell me make or model. Where do I find a number for my existing pump. Nothing but a casting number on the back plate...318374 D2 Thanks Mars bar "mostly nuts"

There is very little that can go wrong with these simple pumps.------Usually a new diaphragm will take care of any issues.----------What is your motor doing or not doing ?-----Have you tested / tried operating with someone operating the manual fuel pump ?

It's an old motor and Iv'e exhausted every option. Found a pinched bare wire on one of the points, Properly set the gap and cleaned the points and rotor, new wires and plugs. Seems like it's starving for gas. Took apart the fuel pump and it's original factory. Diaphragm looks weak and stretched "No rtebuild kits , obsolete..

What hp and have you looked at newer motors with a similar looking pump for the repair parts ?----Do you have spark now that will jump a gap of 1/4" or more.--Have you done a compression test ?
