I recently picked up a 9.9 hp evinrude with a 15 HP carb. . .who knows what year the carb is.
I found this carb kit replaced the carb for a 9.9 HP 78 and most other years....

That contained a new float, new welsh plugs and a few other necessities. . .
Then I found this on Leeroys ramblings. . .

Are the extra gaskets necessary. ..? Neither kit fits a carb for a 15 HP from 78, and I cant locate one that does, both kits fit a 9.9 and a 15hp carb from the 80s, it was my understanding that the only difference was a change from a metal to a plastic fuel bowl?
My engine cuts out at idle also dies at high rpms after 2 minutes. Lower spark plug consistently fowls. Compression and spark are good. Good waterflow through outboard indicator. . .
