1983 70hp Evinrude lower end unit oil leak

Hey all,
First time posting, need help. I live in RI and stored my 1983 70hp Evinrude for the winter in my garage. All was fine until I put it back on my pontoon the other day. A small bagel sized puddle of oil formed on the ground after mounting and securing it. It seems to be coming from behind the prop. It has not leaked since and there is no sign of it on my garage floor from storage. Any thoughts on this? New seals, no worries...? Thanks!

Republic of Indonesia good morning, oil is probably just the two stroke residue, what colour is it? does it smell like gear oil?
undo the flathead screw on the gearcase, the top one check the oil level, dont undo the philips screw at all costs

gear oil is kind of fishy smelly, well its not at all like what you will smell on your cars engine oil or AT fluid dip stick.
Republic of Indonesia was just a wildcard, i had being thinking Rhode island was more likely as Indonesia winters i didnt think really existed

Its gear oil but again it hasn't leaked since

I would drain it and pressure test the case.
