Hi All,
Please let me know if someone can help. I am putting back together the Thermostat & Cylinder Head Cover on a new Head for a 1973 65 HP Evinrude.Triumph and I really want to confirm the torque values before I bust another bolt. Based on the book I have once the Thermostat and Cylinder Head Cover are put back on the new head I bott everything back on the engine @ 19 Ft/Lbs in three seperate rounds of increasing torque.

However, I am not sure what the torque values are for the Thermostat Cover and Cylinder Cover. I started at hand tight and then increased to 10 ft/lbs for the first round but busted a bolt.

If possible please confirm the following Torque values...
Thermostat Cover ???
Cylinder Head Cover ???
Cylinder Head Bolts 19FT/Lbs

Thanks for any help that can be offered...

If you don't have a suitable inch-pound torque wrench, you would be better off just tightening those little screws by feel. I've never seen a foot-pound torque wrench that could be trusted at such low settings. The difference between 6 and 7 foot pounds could make it or break it (pun intended).
