What year and model

Was given this boat and motor back in December. I have been able to get correct parts for it using schematics found on internet, as best I can figure its a 25-35 horse Johnson somewhere between a 77-82. The model tag is missing and had 30HP and 35hp markings on it, but the lower seems to be a 25, its electric start tiller steer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

called BRP, no joy said it appeared to have been manufactured in Canada and requested I send PICs to them via email, email account wont send?? I don't know guess I will consider OB as a 1977 25HP.

There was a guy on here with a gear case like that.Wondering what it was.
It appears the leg is way too long for the transom. The foil/wing may be holding you back.
Some pics of the whole outfit may bring some suggestions.
By the way there is a 28 hp sandwiched in late 87,88,89
It appears to have the older gear case with no through hub exhaust.

yes the leg is too long, and the foil was an attempt to patch that but I have since learned it doesn't. I have found a jack plate that is in my shopping cart.

I had a 79 35 hp model long shaft Johnson just like yours. The main difference between it and the 25 was that the 35 had the thru-the- prop exhaust and a larger carb. You can't see much difference in the carb throat, but you sure can see if it's got thru hub exhaust or not. It it does not have through-the-hub exhaust it's a 25. This was true from 77 at least up through the 83 model year.

Thanks everybody, I can pretty much determine now it is a 77-84 25HP, now how would the model number read?
